FAQ

How much does Circle B Island Beef cost?
Our 2022 beef price is at $5.50 per pound hanging weight. The processing cost will depend on which butcher we select for processing we currently work with two processors.

In 2021 a quarter of beef, processing included, costs about $680-$750 depending on the size . A half of a beef share costs approximately $1500 and a whole animal approximately $3000-$3400.

How do I pay for the beef?
Circle B Island Beef will contact you at butcher date or the day after with the exact hanging weight and cost of your beef. You may then pay for your beef by cash, check or credit card. ALL payment for beef MUST be received before you go to pick up your beef at the processing plant.

How long is the beef dry-aged?

The beef is dry-aged anywhere from 7 -14 days depending on the animal.

How much freezer space do I need?
For each 25 pounds of packaged beef, you will need about 1 cubic foot of freezer space. So if you order a quarter of beef, you need about 4-5 cubic feet; for a half of a beef, you’ll need about 10 cubic feet.

What breed of beef do you sell?
We hand-select Red Angus steers that will be approximately 2 years of age or under when they are processed.

When is your beef available for purchase?
Each year we sell a limited supply of beef that is ready at processing. We take orders on a first-come, first-served basis. We have butcher dates in spring and in the Fall.

Can I have grain-finished beef?

Yes, we can finish your beef this way. This makes for a deeper flavor and more marbling. We only accept a limited number per year and add cost per pound of beef. This is an add-on.
